LCMA Black Belt Club And Instructor Program
Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation promotes strong leadership through its Black Belt Club program. This program is designed to help students achieve their goals to the Black Belt. The Black Belt Club also helps students to direct discipline toward other areas of their lives that need improvement. What good is discipline if all you can use it for is fighting or doing something destructive? The purpose of discipline is to channel it towards being a better person inside and out. This is where Master Lee comes in. Master Lee meets with all students in the Black Belt Club once monthly to help evaluate and outline goals ie. paying off credit cards, eating better, stretching more, removing foods that hurt us like red meat and pork or to simply be able to drink a gallon of water daily.
Fight Testing
Growing up as a young kid loving Kung Fu, I was hurt many times emotionally by the attitude of "so-called" Kung Fu Masters, sifus, and instructors. These people carry themselves like Gods. The purpose of training Kung Fu, at least one of the purposes, should be to feel better about yourself . Why were these people so mean? Well, I found out why. When people have a lot to hide, they give out a lot of smoke and use mirrors. In other words, they do not want you to know how little they have. What I have also found is that there are a lot of martial arts instructors who teach the sport and exercise; yet they eat bad, drink alcohol and don't exercise enough. There are even fewer of them who have fighting skills. Don't get me wrong. All of them can fight. Matter of fact, anyone can hurt anyone at any given time. Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation will redefine fighting power in the United States. Why? Following are a few reasons:Higher ranked students can never hit lower ranks.
Lower ranked students can hit higher ranks.
Rank represents fighting skill and not just kicks, punches and katas.
Instructor trainees must pass fight tests to qualify for belt tests.
Research all the Web sites in the world and none will talk about the fighting skills the student will receive.
Now less talk about the reasons mentioned above. Not allowing higher ranked students to hit lower ranks allows younger students to experiment without the fear of being injured; therefore, the higher rank students must learn how to use his power to defend himself and not just strike when under pressure. This will also help the higher rank student to calm himself.
When lower ranked students know that there is no penalty for error, they will try harder and at the same time will provide a greater sense of threat to the higher rank. If a higher ranked hits a lower rank, the lower rank will be too emotionally injured to continue his training and will probably quit. Unlike when a higher ranked gets hit. He has the tools to go home and do homework and to comeback with a new solution.
If you go to Words from the Teacher , you will find the fighting standards and expectations for each belt. Yellow Belt is supposed to be able to stop all punches before going to Green Belt. Green Belt is supposed to be able to fight any kick boxing attack without being hit before going to the Blue Belt. Go to Words from the Teacher and read about the other belts.
Students who are interested in the Black Belt Club must take two classes per week and assist in teaching two classes per week. They also agree to not rank for belts without passing the required fight tests. The fight tests that takes place at Lee's Chinese Martial Arts are unheard of--real world, and you can get hurt. Students who want to be instructors will be given discounts on their tuition and merchandise for their commitment to the Black Belt Club. The first fight test does not start until a student has reached the Yellow Belt and then they have one month to prepare.

Instructor standards in the
United States
Fight test #1
- The student assistant becomes eligible for the first fight test one month after achieving Yellow Belt and cannot leave the Yellow Belt without passing this test. The student assistant must fight 3 people separately--one-minute rounds (the fight tests are at the end of classes). If the student assistant is hit, or strikes the attacker too forcefully, or defends without counter attacking the attacker--he/she fails the test. In fight test #1, the attacker can only use hand attacks. There are too many martial art instructors who could not pass our first fight test. Don't get me wrong, all of them can fight, but what separates the skilled fighter from the unskilled fighter? At Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation, the unskilled fighter is one who has no option but destruction (under attack they are so afraid and mentally out of control that they strike back with destructive power). This means the instructor cannot fight without hurting his attackers or his students. When you have the power to fight and not destroy, then and only then do you have options under a real attack.
Fight test # 2 -
The student assistant becomes eligible for the second fight test one month after achieving Green Belt. The student assistant must fight three people separately--one-minute rounds. If the student assistant is hit, or strikes the attacker too forcefully, or defends without a counter attack, the test has been failed. In fight test two, the attacker can use both hand and kick attacks.
Fight test # 3 -
The student assistant becomes eligible for the third fight test one month after achieving Blue Belt. The student assistant must fight two people simultaneously, one two-minute round. The attackers can kick, punch, grapple and even take the student assistant to the ground. If any of the above takes place the student assistant will fail the test. The student assistant must have the skills to control the attackers without harming them. If the student assistant strikes an attacker with force, the test is failed.
Martial Arts Truth
Kung Fu in America has taken a backseat. Those instructors who have skills are so busy trying to be gods and secretive that they have forgotten that there are no shortcuts. The only true road to mastery is hard work. We at Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation will establish ourselves as the new standard setters in Chinese Kung Fu. Why? Because we eat healthier than the other schools. Students are into improving their bodies: increasing water and protein intake, weight-lifting regiments, and above all, we make fighting an artistic exchange. In most schools, instructors either don't fight, cannot fight--but give the attitude of a skilled fighter. There are so many martial art crooks that they won't even allow you to visit or even look at their classes if you are not signed up for the introductory classes. So much politics is put into the martial arts that they give the impression of a large corporation instead of some place where you can come in to feel good about yourself and meet nice, warm people who are sincere about helping others to feel good about themselves. Instead, they communicate in the superior fashion. That is like using your power to beat someone without reason. Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation teaches students how to take power and use it to make people feel good about themselves and to use the same power to improve weak areas in their own lives. The fight test serves many purposes to the student assistant. First, it teaches them not to use power or destruction as a solution to a problem. When you learn how to stop a punch from hitting your body, then your ability to see life problems coming from miles away easier. When you do get hit, you do not have the option to strike back; therefore, you must focus on what causes the blow. Life is the same way. Sometimes there are problems that are out of our control, but we still must deal with these problems. The fight test will help you to stop focusing on your pain and to immediately transfer that energy to looking for a solution. Each fight test brings about new challenges, new strategies, and it exposes new weaknesses in our skills.
