The Crunch Club
My goal is to show my students and people in general that one can get old and still improve their health. This goal required me to sit down and take a strong look at myself. At that point, I realize that, I was not in the best physical shape to motivate anyone to get busy. From this point, I decided to come up with a plan that would get me in the best physical shape possible. One day while watching CNN a doctor reported that the size of a man's waist line dictates his how long he lives. From that newscast, I decided to start on my waist line by doing crunches.
Too Many people go into working out without a full plan. They either start running to lose weight off their belly and as a result injure their knees. Or the weight lifter who works his arms and chest while their belly continues to grow. So my plan was simple, and that was to do crunches as many as necessary to achieve the eight pack look, not the simple 6 pack. Imagine how simple it would be to motivate people when the teacher is in the best possible shape. Then imagine the first impression effect when a man 50 years of age can achieve the 6 pack look.
Too Many martial art instructors, focus too much energy on being destructive or promoting their destructive power. When it seems for better to turn this energy into being a healthier and fit person. There are for more benefits that come from being healthy, looking healthy, eating healthy and being a overall nice person. When you Master things that are important like your your own life, it will be for easier to motivate others to be healthier. The greater joy is, the blessings I get daily from helping people to fill better and healthier. This is called living the Kung Fu lifestyle. The benefits from doing crunches were so great, that my waist line decreased in size and my energy doubled. That's when I start adding crunches in our training sessions. I admit I was very shocked how quickly many students begin to decrease their waist line. From that I decided to start The Crunch Club.

Lee's Update
As of 3-30-08 I have been doing my crunches 7 year and 46 week.
Starting Jan. 1, 2000 I began doing 1000 per day. The results were
so motivating that I began doing 2000 per day broken into half in the
morning
and the other half night. my waist was
46 inches when I started and now it is 33 and one half inches. I can
not begin to tell you how better I feel. Being that America is the
fatties country in the world, this is my way of motivating my students
to not only be serious about your Kung-Fu training, but to transferee
some of that excitement toward improving ones health and physical
appearance.
